I’m excited about this development. A Catholic congregation in the US has indicated their intention of returning the church bells (these are not tower bells but “sanctus” bells) of Meycauayan. The American soldiers are notorious for bringing home church treasures as war souvenirs with them during the Philippine American war. How the Sisters of Mercy acquired the bells is unclear.
